I bought this combo to fish on vacation in NC. It was wonderful and helped me catch over 50 fish! Perfect stiffness on the rod. The only thing I didn't like is that the reel is loud. Makes a lot of clicking noises with mono.. it may not be so loud with braid. Overall though.. very happy with the product and the value!

It was my 13 year old sons birthday gift, and we put it together exactly the way it should be. Followed all the things it said was best for it, and 4TH cast it snapped in half and flew into the water. We had done everything right, we pushed on the rod the way it was supposed to be. AND IT STIL BROKE!!!!!!
