Description

The PENN® International® VI series is designed and manufactured in the USA of domestic and imported components. Precision machined from high-strength, lightweight, aircraft grade aluminum in our Philadelphia machining center. Our experienced crew has been designing and producing durable, high-quality reels in this facility since 1932. The VI consists of a large stainless steel gear train for strength and speed, and a Dura-Drag system which results in a smoother start up and virtually eliminates hesitation, even under extreme drag settings.

Great all around reel
Perfect for live bait and trolling. Really smooth and I really like the open spool. After a season still feels brand new.

Workhorse
I recently swapped out my old international Vs for the VISX and have been amazed at how well they have performed. The weight difference between the new internationals versus the old makes standup fishing that much better. We put the absolute test on the reels this summer on my offshore charters and have been very impressed with how well they’ve held up!

Fantastic!
I had the opportunity to go on a three day offshore trip out of fisherman‘s Landing on a boat called the Searcher. The first night of the trip we limited the boat for 18 guys 120 fish in three hours. It was the best kind of chaos you could imagine. The VISX 16 never left my hand. This reel is fantastic for blue fin tuna!

Internation VISX 30
Purchased this reel with a 50-80 Bent Butt Ally. Has been an excellent choice for trolling Wahoo. Evaluated this against others in this class. Had to be USA! The VISX is a perfect balance of capacity, strength, width/height, features, and quality (smooth/feel). I ultimately selected based on its ergonomics, balance, and profile when seated on rod.
