A non-corrosive aluminum Seaguide® HBS reel seat keeps reels firmly secured during battle. Really happy with the setup, good action and backbone without the heavy tip. Ran this rod with a custom Senator 112h and a nomad Madmac 130. Trolled great and the fight was also great.

These Ally II rods are built on a flawed fast action design and are inappropriate for trolling duties, tuna chunking or shark drifting. Most rods of this genre feature a more parabolic bend. The fast jigging-type action of these blanks is also hampered by the rod's 5-guide setup. 6-foot rods of this type need a minimum of 6-to-7 guides to keep the line from hitting or slipping under the bowed rod tip when fighting a large gamefish. These Ally II rods fail miserably in this regard. Avoid these rods, they are a terrible design. I wish that I could send them back...they're a total waste of money.
