    Continuing the tradition

    My first Penn Reel was a Spinfisher 650SS from my dad, years later when I bought my gear myself for the first time I got a new Spinfisher 6500. Now my son has his first Spinfisher. Great reel, great company, love Penns equipment!

    Solid Combo

    Withstood poor packaging from retailer.

    Combo VII: 7', Medium/Light, 2500

    Caught many stripers, black bass, blues, fluke, scup. Great all-around rod and reel combo for price. Even boated/released a 30lb striper on it. Have the 3500 combo too. Would recommend but make sure you can return if shipped damaged from retailer. 1 came with a bent eye and another came without the reel crank. Retailer took care of me. Not Penn's fault.

    Beware of damaged goods & Lack of customer service!

    This item arrived damaged. The return process has been in limbo with a accepted return but no RMA or return label. Customer service is not responsive and I've had to escalate with the shop pay app to see if they can help. I just want my money back. I'd gladly send back the product as it's no good.

    Penn Spinfisher rod and reel combo great for Stripers!

    I have several of these Penn Spinfisher rod and reel combos in various sizes as does my nephew Bruce. We both use them regularly for fluke and striped bass fishing along the New Jersey coast. This season was an impressive fall run of striped bass. We each caught over 30 stripers between November and late December on these combos. They were all between 27”- 40” and the rod and reels held great up to long runs and worked great to land all of them! This has been my go to fishing outfit for all of my saltwater fishing. I also have some of the older black and gold Spinfisher models and still use them as well and they have all held up great for over the past 30 years! Penn outfits are the best!
