    Surfcasting ligero/mediano

    Rock fishing

    Agua dulce con especies medianas

    Great for starting out

I don’t know if Im one of the lucky ones because mine has the power knob not the one shown but so far I have caught pinfish, lizardfish, and toadfish with no problem at all. This is my first rod since I was 8 (been 14 years) and I absolutely love it. I have the 3000’s combo version and it’s everything I wanted from it. Definitely would love to know where to go from here PENN.

Penn Pursuit IV (5000) lands a 29lb striper

The drag was smooth and released at jyst the right time, each time they ran and dig deep. The reel is paired with a 7ft Ugly Stick Bigwater rod. Its a winning combo. The reel is loaded with 30lb braid with a 30lb flourocarbon topshot leader.

I landed 3 stripers on that trip, all with the "Ugly Penn" combo. Two 27in under slots and the big overslot 35in/29lb monster (see pics).

    Tough as high end reels......

This reel is Penn quality for a really low price. As a fishing guide my equipment gets beat up every day. I use them for Tarpon and Snook as well as Tuna. For the price you don't fix them, you buy more!
