Pen is a very unreliable company and they don't honor their warranty and they will tell you to return the product instead of registering it with them i bought 4 Penn combos from d***'s sporting goods and 4 of them were broken. I ordered one from Walmart, and it's broken, contacted Penn to try to get it warranted.
And they won't do nothing about it. Go to a different company that cares about their customers

I recently ordered 2 battle 10 foot rod and reel combos. they're of good quality for the money considering the $50 discount.
Now, for the bad. Both rods were damaged during shipping. Both were put into the same box with no padding. The reels were zip tied to the rod and not tightened into the reel seat. One reel completely came loose and was at the bottom of the box while the other just dangled. Both rods suffered damage to the reel seats. Penn needs to do better when shipping these expensive rods and reels, knowing that the shipping companies throw these boxes around without care. Penn had me return both for a full refund after they inspected it. I decided to take a chance and only buy one as a replacement. That arrived today with no packing and the reel dangling, yet again, but no apparent damage. So I will keep this one.

I got my Penn combo safely after the online purchase. I already had a battle III that I purshase in a store but I lost it in a pier fishing incident with a big fish that liked my combo and took it. For me it was a sign to get the newest version of Penn Battle the Battle IV.
I already catch some fish with the combo all the way to Panama. Thank you for the service!!
