The PENN Fathom™ Electric is an innovative, first of its kind reel. Built on the legendary platform of the Fathom II Lever Drag reels, the PENN Fathom™ Electric powers your game to the next level. Featuring a fully integrated and replaceable Lithium Ion battery pack, you never have to be worried about being tied down with cords or limited to spots with a plug. The PENN Fathom™ Electric features a true digital line counter based on line diameter inputs, which powers the autostop feature for true hands free retrieval, with override feature if you wish to manually run the speed control. The powerful brushless motor easily handles as much drag as you wish to run, with speeds capable of running everything from chicken rigs to sailfish kites. PENN Fathom™ Electric provides up to 40 lbs winding power. Kit includes reel, battery and charger.

Love this reel to use as a second rod while I jig... In one day it reeled in 2 dozen Gag and Red Grouper, 4 sharks and a Goliath grouper and still had battery power to spare. I fish in 50 to 120 feet. I rig it with 100lb Pro Spec Chrome Braid and a 100-200 lb leader depending on what I am fishing for.

This reel has changed the way we fish deepwater rockfish. The all in one configuration means not having to deal with separate batteries and cords. It fishes like a normal conventional reel until it's time to drop it in the rod holder and allow it to wind up the fish from 600 feet down. They also do double duty allowing us to safely descend off limits fish like this cowcod.

Purchased this reel earlier this year and was able to use it quite a few times this season. This is my favorite reel for tiles up here in the north east. It is really easy to use and has a ton of power behind it. The override knob is responsive and drag is very smooth. Not having cables and batteries on deck cleared up a lot of deck space on the canyon trips and uncluttered the deck.

I put to test, this Penn Fathom Electric 80 reel, fishing off the North Carolina coast in 500ft + WATER. Caught several large fish over an entire day of fishing. Used one battery, and an additional two bars on a second. Far exceeding my expectations. I highly recommend!
