Compact. Powerful. Reliable. The Fathom Electric is built for captains who don’t back down — Just ask Captain Nick Stanczyk.
When you’ve run a charter boat out of Bud n’ Mary’s Marina since the age of 18, you don’t just fish—you fight. For Captain Nick Stanczyk, those battles have spanned everything from swordfish in the Gulf Stream to the brute strength of deep-dwelling grouper. After 15 years of chartering out of Islamorada, FL, Nick knows what it takes for gear to survive the grind, and the Fathom Electric is certainly a survivor.

IMMENSE POWER IN A SMALL FRAME
Don’t let the size of this reel fool you. The Fathom Electric may be sleek and lightweight, but it packs plenty of punch. Captain Stanczyk has put it to the test going head-to-head with the likes of tilefish, snowy grouper, yellowedge grouper, barrelfish, red snapper, and many more. Each time, the reel delivered on its promise of strength and flexibility needed to win the fight—no faltering, no doubts, no excuses.
Fishing 500 feet down day in and day out demands reliability, and the PENN® Fathom™ Electric doesn’t back down. Fitted with 30 lb braid and a 2 lb sinker, Captain Stanczyk has worked this reel hard—tackling multiple fish in a single trip—and the battery held fast, lasting the entire day if not more. For a captain who lives by the rhythm of the ocean, that kind of endurance means more time fishing and less time worrying about gear.

The PENN Fathom™ Electric is a first of it's kind reel. Featuring a fully integrated and replaceable Lithium Ion battery, you never have to worry about being tied down with cords or limited to spots on deck with a plug. This reel features a true digital line counter based on line diameter inputs, enabling the auto-stop feature for true hands free retrieval, with an override feature to manually run the speed control as well. The powerful brushless motor handles as much drag as you wish to run, with speeds capable of controlling everything from chicken rigs to sailfish kites. PENN Fathom™ Electric provides up to 40 lbs winding power. Kit includes reel, battery and charger.

VERSATILITY REINVENTED
The Fathom Electric doesn't stop at deep dropping though, with Captain Stanczyk putting it through the ringer with kite fishing along the reef edge, and even having it pull duty as a teaser reel while trolling. Plain and simple, the Fathom Electric has the capability to adapt to every battle scenario. Designed to be one fo the lightest weight electric reels on the market, Nick and his crew can easily move around the deck with the agility to react fast when the ocean calls.
Captain Stanczyk has run plenty of electric reels through the gauntlet in all his years on the water, but the Fathom has earned its place as one of his favorites. The combination of portability, power, and the ability to swap batteries makes it a trusted ally in the fight offshore.
When Captain Nick Stanczyk calls a piece of gear “a winner in my book,” you know it’s been through hell and back. The Fathom Electric reel isn’t just another tool—it’s a battle-ready weapon, proven against some of the toughest fish in the sea.
