A new collaboration representing a bold
marriage of artistry and angling heritage.
While our partners at Malosi Studio are contributing to the designs of multiple PENN® t-shirts, this partnership goes far beyond soft goods — it’s a celebration of what it means to be an angler and the harmony that exists between man and sea. By blending the PENN legacy of strength and reliability with Malosi Studios’ meticulously hand-drawn artistry, we're able to capture the raw power and poetic beauty of the sport itself.
The following film is pure, heart-pounding chaos on the edge of the ocean — a tribute to the grit it takes to chase deep sea predators where few dare to travel. Watch the Malosi brothers go head-to-head with raw ocean fury, battling the brutal conditions, razor-sharp rocks, and unstoppable power of a Giant Trevally on artificial. What unfolds is not just fishing but rather a jaw-dropping display of obsession, endurance, and the pursuit of the near-impossible.
Trekking to some of the most unforgiving environments on earth in pursuit of giant fish requires more than skill alone — it demands relentless determination, preparation, and resilience. For the Malosi brothers, those same qualities are at the very foundation of their craft. Just as every lure design begins with countless hours of trial and error, every expedition to the remote islands they fish requires the same perseverance. Their story is far from that of shortcuts, but of enduring struggles and maintaining the conviction that what waits on the other side is worth every ounce of effort.
The brothers face crashing surf, dangerous ledges, and the mental grind of endless casts, knowing that the ocean might answer back with a Giant Trevally, at which point all hell breaks loose. It’s a test of body and spirit — where weakness is punished, preparation is everything, and triumph comes to those who never falter. When the fish finally surfaces, it's more than a trophy but a culmination of the sacrifices and willpower it took to get there.
The traits required to take on unmatched adversity is why a collaboration is so natural. Just as the Malosi brothers craft lures to withstand anything and art to pay respect to the ocean, PENN builds gear designed to deliver reliability when it's needed most. The same grit that defines the Malosi journey also runs through every reel and rod produced — gear that empowers anglers to push boundaries and embrace the process as much as the reward. Together, PENN and Malosi stand as proof that fishing is more than a sport: it is art, endurance, and heritage united in The Endless Pursuit.
Malosi's impressive ballpoint fish illustrations pay homage to the incredible beauty and intricate detail of the ocean's fiercest predators, bringing a new artistic flare to PENN's legacy of saltwater performance.
Many of these art pieces are on full display throughout the halls of the PENN® office, but soon will be available and prominently featured on a collection of limited edition performance t-shirts. Anglers who wear these designs will be sporting a reminder of the unyielding drive that unites us all on the water.
