Building off of our proven IPX6 sealed body and spool, we redesigned our Slammer® drag system to not only be better sealed, but also offer a wider range of usable drag, all while being bearing supported for extra smoothness. I bought 2 of these less than 6months ago one of them started to wobble in the crank handle and metal started coming out the side the reels are basically brand new the warranty system is you have to mail it off at your expense for them to determine if it’s covered and then you have to wait weeks for them to repair it and return it back which wouldn’t be a bad deal if the reel was beat and heavily used but brand new I felt it should be a simple exchange

I have been using this reel for surf fishing in California year-round, and its durability in demanding saltwater conditions has been impressive.
I recently had the reel overhauled by the Penn Fishing technical and maintenance department to ensure it remains in top condition. They provided excellent service and did a fantastic job. I highly recommend their team for any maintenance needs.

I was fishing the other day and a 26 inches red fish pulled my rod in and the next day I snagged my reel and caught the red. It still reels perfectly with no problems after being underwater in the bay for a day. Best reel OAT
