I ordered a brand-new PENN Squadron IV Jig Conventional Rod and was excited to receive it. Instead, it arrived with a broken tip straight out of the box. After waiting for the shipment, it was incredibly frustrating to open the package and find the rod was snapped in half before I ever had a chance to use it.
What made the experience even worse was the customer service. Rather than simply replacing a rod that arrived broken, I was told I had to spend my own time packaging it back up and shipping it back. This was not my mistake, yet I have to waste more time fixing a problem that happened before it even reached me.
For a company with PENN’s reputation, I expected much better quality control and customer service. Customers shouldn’t have to jump through hoops after receiving a defective product. This experience has made me think twice about buying directly from PENN again.
