Love it
First time fisherman. I’m 53 and my nephew is 13. He told me to buy both the Penn Battle III and a Penn 7’ rod.
I bought 4 as he was visiting over the holidays here in Delray Beach. After putting everything together we ended up catching g over a dozen fish at several locations around town. I never had a better time and fishing was easier than I thought Thanks Penn!

Great near shore and offshore rig
Performed exceptionally well while fishing American Red Snapper in Florida. This 5000 series with 7’ rod Loaded with 50 lb braid hauled several large ARSs up off the reef, which is no small feat. Plenty of power while offering enough sensitivity to feel the bites from smaller Lane Snappers and Trigger Fish. My go-to rod and reel for near shore fishing. Am going to buy another shortly to complement my fishing arsenal.
