Rated 5 out of 5 by DEEPBLUE Kayak Fishing from Great Rod For The Money! As a Kayak Fishing Guide I need rods that are reliable but don't break the bank. The Squadron 2 is perfect for my Inshore Trips where we target Snook, Tarpon, Trout. We also landed some 30lb plus Jacks on them so if they can withstand the punishment of big jacks you know its a solid rod. Highly recommended.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Floridaflats from weak guide supports I purchased one of these rods a little over a year ago to fish the Florida flats for Redfish, Trout, Snook etc. Every one of the guide supports have rusted and broke allowing the guides to fall out. Obviously the guide supports are made of every cheap material, not good for salt water use. I expected Penn to be better quality.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Texas Redfish from Penn Squadron SQDIN1220S70MN I bought this rod for my Penn Pursuit II 5000 reel to use in salt water for Redfish and Speckled Trout. I have had it for 6 months. Three of the eyes and the tip guides have cracked or broken exposing the the line to the metal eyes. The reel seat must be unscrewed all the way to the back to accept the Penn Pursuit II 5000 reel. The reel seat is low cost plastic and the metal rings are showing signs of rust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hammer4reel from Great all around boat rod Picked up some of the squadrons to use as boat rods .to save a little $$$ in case a client dropped one overboard. Couldnt be happier with these rods. have had stripers to the mid 40# range and the rods handled them well. Paired with Battle spinners, they are a true work horse

Rated 4 out of 5 by collegefund from love this rod bought this rod last year while on vac. for speckfishing. Being 70 yrs old discovered was a little too heavy for that, but used it for light surf casting and jigging. While spanish fishing I lost my balance and fell on the rod trying to land a cobia. Really missed it so started looking for another and everyone was sold out. Contacted Penn and ordered rod with no shipping charges. Glad to have a replacement.
