Rated 5 out of 5 by blkrkfshcvche from Solid rod for the price I bought this rod a couple days ago to use with a pursuit ii 6000 spinning reel, primarily because it was the cheapest reasonable quality spinning rod available where I was shopping. On its inaugural day, the rod worked great for me, fishing offshore caught one each bft, yellowtail and bonita (5-15 lb fish). The only problem I had was I purchased the rod the day before the trip, got home to string it, and noticed that the 4th guide from the top was missing the aluminum oxide ring. I was able to swap out for an identical model just before I got on the boat, so it all worked out ok. All in all, the enjoyment of fishing with this rod surpassed my expectation based on the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Green Zone from Tough A!! Rod! Just bought this rod a few days ago. Used it this Saturday down here in Miami, FL while out trolling. When we found the Dolphin (Mahi) school it was nonstop. Reeled in a 42 pounder plus 7 more. Also reeled in a 28 pound Tuna. I also bought the Penn Spinner 8500 with Live Line feature....folks it's a deadly combo!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tuna Grit 2 from Offshoreman’s best friend! This is a follow up from my previous review above. I just returned from my two day off shore trip fishing 130 miles out and I have to say with all honesty, this Rampage out performed all my expectations. Using a 6500 reel spooled with 25# braid I caught and boated my limit of 10 Mahi Mahi with the largest being 21 lbs. We then headed out into deeper water off the shelf (1200 ft +) and drifted through the night. I switched spools to 80# braid with a 100lb fluorocarbon leader and fished live squid. By 7:30 the next morning I had caught a 211 lb swordfish (a 32 minute fight) a 10’ monster blue shark (a 22 minute fight) and a 91 lb white marlin that broke water 23 times throughout the 17 minute sunrise battle. The Rampage tired them out quickly without loosing a fish. This rod is great! The swordfish was hooked at about 270 feet down and despite it’s best attempt to break that rod or my 80# braid it did not, even though the rod was arched a full 180 degrees for the entire fight with the butt under my armpit, dropping to my knee and the top grip against the rail. Now that is what I call a workhorse! My next trip will be for YFT and you can be sure that the Rampage will be seeing some action.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Fatguywithaz28 from More than i bargained for Just got the thing because i needed a spinning rod for my Fierce II That could handle 50lb braid so i got the 7" 30-50lb model and then i read the specs on the rod itself, mono rating is 30-50, braid is 50-80, so yeah, It'd be nice if they posted the braid rating in the specs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Tuna Grit from Looks great, feels great! I just received my 7’ fast action, heavy Rampage spinning rod and after preliminary examination it appears to be a strong backbone workhorse. I purchased this rod to match up with my Daiwa BG 6500 for pelagic offshore trips. The Rampage feels at home with the weight of the reel and the reel seat holds tight. Although the item description stated that it was a fast action tip, it doesn’t seem like it is. May have to stick to trolling or jigging. I rated each of three categories, in this case 1 star is good, and gave it 3 stars for the quality, weight, and physical components (would have liked an Aluminum reel seat) but I have not used it yet, so to be fair I gave it a 3 out of 3. Once I test it out I will be able to rate the performance and strength. ( the other two stars). Overall I am pleased with the product received and expect it to be a successful advisary to the mighty yellowfin. One thing I learned in my 50 years of fishing, is it is not the expensive equipment that all the product promoting “ review and angler” sites rave about being needed to catch fish.... It’s the skill of the angler that puts the fish in the boat. I know that big fish can be caught on a 150 foot piece of Dacron rope, a pair of fireplace mits, a meat hook and a sloppy, oily, piece of chicken, but don’t tell those “super-promo” fishermen because they get too much free stuff to agree. Overall, for the price tag on this rod you cannot go wrong. Great rod great price.

Took to Venice for some heavy butterfly jogging in 100-300 ft water Handled big amberjacks, cobias, snappers and sharks Love the handle/grips on this rod I bought the spinning 6’6” rod (but since have bought two of the 6’6” boat casting jigging rods) Great all around rod especially for jigging fast!
