Rated 5 out of 5 by Ron_A from Update to "Nice Rod" Previous post I've had this rod for over a year now (30-80lb), and have fished Albacore exclusively with it. Caught no less 75 last season in the 15-30 lb class. Paired it with a Torque 25N, part of the season, and a Fathom 25N for the other part. Rod (and reels!) performed flawlessly. I'm sticking to my belief that it's a bit stiff for the "Shimano style" butterfly jigs in the 112 gram class, but it shines with jigs from 140-200 grams. I'd fish it with jigs up to 250 grams before getting into another rod, but I don't need to. We fish in the top 100 ft of the water column, we can get away with smaller/lighter jigs on a slow drift. Also used it jigging for relatively shallow halibut (260'). 10 oz jig tipped with tuna belly did the trick. Never felt underpowered with the 25N + Carnage II rod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ron A from Nice Rod! Better finish and eyes than the previous model. Has a nice parabolic bend, though it might be a little too stiff for lighter jigs in the 95-112 gram class, I'm sure it will work great for the 130-200 gram iron. I think this will be perfect for cranking in Oregon Coast albacore in the 20-35 lb range.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BCook from Excellent Rod I got the really heavy one thats 5'8" and paired it with a Penn Torque 40 2-speed; this rig is excellent and Ive used it to haul up a bunch of snapper this year - cant wait to try it on some big amberjack or tuna. The rod is super strong and light and has an excellent foregrip. Like the previous bluewater carnage jigging rods, this rod seems to be much more well-constructed than the Shimano Terez, especially since its guides are coated and dont rust away like those on the Terez.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rockitwerks from Love to speed jig with this rod! I do a lot of mechanical jigging with this rod. It's lightweight and the action of the rod fits a lot of my needs. I'm impressed with quality, and probably one of the best bang for your dollar. Whether I'm vertical speed jigging or slow jigging this is one rod that will feed many of your needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Zman228 from Love the fore grip I Just received this rod as a warranty replacement for another Penn Carnage rod. I love the new fore grip and can't went to bend it over the gunnel. I am no stranger to Penn products and am excited about this one.
