Best pitch reel for marlin!
Used this reel for pitch-baiting marlin in the Galapagos. We used a 60# and it was so good that we are replacing all the other pitch reels with it!

Awesome reel
Living on the West Coast, I target blue fin tuna with my 40N's. I get awesome free spool, huge amount of drag, and confidence that I can land boat almost any BFT I hook into. My TRQ40NLD2 has a handful of BFT @ 100 lbs , easy fights. I luckily hooked a 205 lb BFT with its' cousin, the Fathom 40NLD2 and had no problem. I have high confidence if/when the opportunity comes, the Torque 40NLD2 will be able to do the same.

My favorite 40lb reel
This is my favorite reel to fish 40lb flying sardine's for bluefin tuna. This reel has caught many fish over 70lbs and even a handful of fish over 100lbs no problem. I liked it so much I bought a 15xnld2, 15ld2, another 25nld2, a 30ld2 and a 40nld2.
I've used talica's and saltiga's and these torque's are head of the class IMO

Beautiful workhorse
One of my favorite reels smooth drags and gear ratios are perfect for the longe range fishing I do
Service them once a year and they give me 150 days fishing

PENN by any standard !
This reel neither exceeded nor failed to meet my standards - it is used for small bluefin and its bread and butter is haddock sea bas over structure and doormat fluke in 80 plus feet of smart running tide
Ive sorted through the. others and my simple standards are 1) the reel has to afford me enough rode in 200 ft of water thats tuning up at 4-5 knots
2) a drag that can stand a school bluefins best shot 3) I will wanna leave I to my grandson
The only reel tha does that is PENN
