PENN Allegience II Inshore Rods

For the Lighter — and Not-So-Light — Side of Inshore and Nearshore Angling

Not every fish that lurks beneath the surface of the sea is a 100-plus pound brute. PENN’s new second generation of Allegiance II inshore rods have been redesigned to tackle both inshore and near-shore species and applications.

Ten spinning models are offered in lengths from 6 feet 6 inches to 7 feet 6 inches and actions that range from extra-light to heavy. Four casting models are available in 7-foot lengths with medium-light, medium, medium-heavy and heavy actions.

All PENN® Allegiance II rods start as one-piece 24-ton 100-percent graphite blanks with high quality components added. The lightweight guides are Fuji® SV or LV frames on spinning rods and Fuji N flared frames on the casting models. Each guide is completed with aluminum oxide inserts, ideal for both monofilament and braided lines.

The custom DPS graphite reel seat features a double-anodized, locking nut for a secure rod to reel connection. The light inshore models’ reel seat also features a cork insert that provides all day comfort. Both the medium-heavy and heavy spinning and casting rods feature contoured EVA grips while the extra-light, light, medium-light, and medium rods feature contoured cork grips. Allegiance II rods also include a rubber gimbal on certain models.

For optimum results, pair the Allegiance II spinning rod with a favorite PENN reel.

Allegiance II rods will be available in September of 2014 with an MSRP ranging from $69.95 to $79.95.
